Redkite’s Christmas Campaign Launch

Redkite’s Christmas Campaign Launch

On a sunny day that marked more than just the beginning of the festive season, a select group of families gathered at Kirribilli House, not just for the view of Sydney Harbour but to attend a heartfelt launch of Redkite’s Christmas campaign.

Our family was one of 12 families invited as ambassadors for Redkite to help launch the Christmas campaign to raise funds for families of children with cancer.

Jodie Haydon, (partner of Anthony Albanese), who has recently joined Redkite as an ambassador, welcomed us and the other families into the warmth of Kirribilli House, making the special occasion even more memorable. The Prime Minister himself even made a special effort to attend the event … in a change of roles for him, as he was there to support Jodie.

The event was a testament to the community’s solidarity with those who face the challenging journey of childhood cancer. In her speech, Monique Keighery, CEO of Redkite, highlighted the significance of the Christmas appeal. She emphasized that the season’s joy doesn’t eclipse the ongoing battles these families endure, expressing in her words, “Cancer doesn’t stop for Christmas.”

The event’s success was not just its ability to bring people together but in the shared recognition of the vital role that non-medical support plays in the lives of affected families, thanks to generous donors.

As one of the twelve privileged families to attend, the experience was humbling. The support from Jodie, along with the attendance of the Prime Minister himself, offers a powerful message of unity and empathy. This special endorsement raises awareness and instills hope, a sentiment that resonates deeply with families who know all too well the importance of community support during the most challenging times.

The launch of the Redkite Christmas campaign at Kirribilli House will be remembered for the strength and determination it represents in the fight against childhood cancer. It’s a reminder that while the festive season is a time for joy and celebration, it’s also an opportunity to extend a hand to those in need, ensuring that the spirit of giving encapsulates the essence of the holiday spirit.
