Karate State Championships
We were presented with our Official State Team selection certificates!
This milestone marks Sophie’s first time on the team. We had another exciting event to attend, so the organizers were kind enough to give us the good news and present our certificates at the tournament.
This was a momentous day for Sophie, who was about to discover that she had been named Young Citizen of the Year for Lake Macquarie. You can read more about her special moment here.
For Andy, it was also the State Championships for karate in his challenging new division for ages 10 to 12. Despite that, he came home with Silver for Kata and Bronze for Kumite, which is sparring.
We’re so proud of his hard work in preparing. The positive mindset and the effort are what I get excited about. Andy wanted to medal, and it paid off.
Paul and Andy then attended the Australian Karate Federation dinner, where Andy was presented with his official State Team selection certificate.
My boys scrub up well. Although I’m told, Andy’s shirt was tucked in for a grand total of 2 minutes all night!
