Family Triumphs at AKF State Karate Championships
In an extraordinary display of skill and discipline, our family has made an impressive mark at the recent AKF State Karate Championships, sweeping medals across various categories.
Andy, the family’s rising star, showcased his prowess by clinching Gold and the esteemed title of State Champion in Kumite (sparring). He secured a Bronze in Kata, demonstrating versatility and mastery in both forms. His achievements speak volumes of his dedication and the hard work he put in during training sessions.
Sophie, another talented member of our karate-loving family, earned a respectable 5th place in Kata amidst tough competition.
I achieved Gold and the title of State Champion in Kata in a performance requiring immense concentration and technique.
The celebrations continued at the annual Karate dinner, where Sophie and I were officially welcomed as State Team members. This honor is a testament to our skill and the respect we have earned within the karate community.
In a surprising turn, despite his recent accolades, Andy has decided not to join the State Team this year, opting instead to focus on another of his athletic passions – gymnastics.
As we gear up for more training in the coming weeks, the karate world eagerly watches, anticipating our next move on the state, national, and perhaps international stages. But for now, we’re enjoying a bit of a break before training again!
