Sophie Berude Background
Sophie’s big challenge
One day, out of the blue, Sophie Berude was diagnosed with Leukemia. It’s common for a diagnosis in children to occur at 50 to 500 Leukemia cells per milliliter of blood, but Sophie had 12,000 and a huge fight ahead. These days, she’s a Karate champion raising money for other kids like her.
Sophie Berude finds the glitter in the darkness!
When Sophie was ill, she and her mother, Christine Tylee, kept a ‘glitter journal.’ It was a notebook with a glittery cover, and each day they would write in there what the one good thing was from that day. They would each find one bit of glitter for that day to keep them going.
